Com o término do período de convenções partidárias, foram oficializados oito candidatos à prefeitura de São Luís. A disputa pelo Palácio de La Ravardière contará com os seguintes nomes: Duarte Jr (PSB), Eduardo Braide (PSD), Fábio Câmara (PDT), Flávia Alves (Solidariedade), Franklin Douglas (PSOL), Saulo Arcangeli (PSTU), Wellington do Curso (Novo) e Yglesio Moisés (PRTB).
As últimas quatro candidaturas foram confirmadas no último fim de semana e nesta segunda-feira (5), conforme o prazo estabelecido pela Justiça Eleitoral para a realização das convenções. No sábado (3), o PSOL oficializou Franklin Douglas, jornalista, advogado e pesquisador, como candidato a prefeito, tendo Aline Maria, estudante de Serviço Social, como vice. Além disso, 26 candidatos do PSOL e da Rede Sustentabilidade foram lançados para disputar vagas na Câmara Municipal.

No domingo (4), o deputado estadual Wellington do Curso foi oficializado pelo Novo como candidato à prefeitura, com a policial militar e professora Ana Paula como vice. Dezenas de candidatos também foram confirmados para concorrer a vereador pelo Novo.
Ainda no domingo, o deputado estadual Yglesio Moisés teve sua candidatura oficializada pelo PRTB, com o Coronel Pereira como vice. O PRTB optou por não lançar candidatos a vereadores.
Na segunda-feira (5), a última candidatura à prefeitura de São Luís foi oficializada pelo Solidariedade. Flávia Alves, suplente de deputada federal, foi confirmada como candidata a prefeita, com o nutricionista Fábio Nutri como vice. Flávia Alves é a única mulher na disputa pelo Palácio de La Ravardière. O Solidariedade também decidiu não lançar candidatos a vereador.
